The Crafts We Support

We pride ourselves in ensuring our products are carefully handmade. An important reason for this is a need to keep these traditional crafts alive and give artisans a platform to showcase their work.

Expert crafting processes that have been passed down and refined through generations.

These unique crafting methods can differ from location, person and materials used giving each product a unique feel and creates a one of a kind special product crafted to the highest quality.

Let us celebrate some of crafting processes we support and provide:

Hand Weaving:

Hand Weaving is a traditional craft that is passed down through generations.

Most importantly, it is also an eco-friendly and sustainable craft.

Eco-friendly and elegant, the true beauty of our handwoven cotton baskets lies in their individuality. Because each product is handwoven, they will all have variations in weave, size and even style as each basket is full of artistic expression and individual styles.

It is often said that each handwoven product carries a special energy from the weaver that created it.

By following and understanding the process, you can truly appreciate the finished basket that ends up in your home.

Mango Wood:

Mango is a hardwood with dense grains, and has the strength to bear the weight necessary for chairs and heavy tables, but it’s still soft enough that it’s relatively easy to work with..

Mango furniture can stand the wear and tear of time as well as an oak kitchen table, but, unlike traditional hardwood furniture, it’s more affordable and completely sustainable.

Mango wood is the by-product of an already thriving industry: Mango fruit.

Once the trees get too tall to easily harvest the fruit or stop bearing fruit altogether, they are harvested for timber and a new generation of trees is planted.

Blue Pottery:

The pottery is completely different from the regular ceramics which use the clay from the river bed, which results in its uniqueness and exclusivity.

Its technique was revived by the conscious efforts of some artists and the royalty of Jaipur that today Jaipur Blue Pottery is the famous world over for its innovative product designs. Blue pottery has now become the common livelihood of the local artisans of Jaipur.

Crafting each oil burner can take 2-3 days due to the extensive decorative details and artistry which goes into every single one.

Soapstone Carving:

Our unique elephant designed essential oil burners are hand carved to exquisite detail by using soapstone.

Each individual oil burner takes 2-3 days to make due to the detailed hand carving process using soapstone rock extracted locally from Rajasthan in Northern India.

Soapstone earns its name for its soft soap-like texture and is renowned for its thermal properties, making it the perfect material for our oil burners. After carving the design with intricate stone work, each oil burner is then finished in a natural polish.

The extraordinary process produces artistry you simply wouldn't find anywhere else. Our soapstone oil burners are not only a display of fine and modern craftsmanship, but also reflect a traditional rich history of the craft which dates back to the 7th century B.C. in India.

Paper Crafting

Handmade by an NGO in Sri Lanka from eco-friendly recycled newspaper. Our recycled paper products help to reduce the amount of unwanted global waste and cut down on the usage of unsustainable sources. The crafting of our recycled paper products provides livelihood for women from poor socio-economic backgrounds and helps them provide a living through sustainable work.

What are the benefits of recycling paper into new products?

Creating products made with old newspapers is a great way to reduce harmful impacts and protect the environment. Paper products are a part of everyday life, so recycling old paper items and newspapers help keep our planet green and beautiful.

Recycled newspaper is very lightweight and extremely durable, so when used in crafting products can open a variety of options for shape, size and design.
When each of our products are crafted they are painted individually by each artist and each product is finished with a sealer which coats each product, adding to its durability, keeping its colour vibrant and making each product waterproof to avoid any mess ruining a beautiful piece of craft.

Our recycled paper products help to reduce the amount of unwanted global waste and cut down on the usage of unsustainable sources. These unique products can differ from location, person and materials used giving each product a unique feel and creates a one of a kind special product crafted to the highest quality.
